2010 vs 2011 TT

i have an 09 TT guards red cab with 6MT but have been thinking of buying either a 2010 or 2011 TT with all the goodies. Does anyone have an opinion as to if i should wait till the 2011 comes out so Porsche can work out all the kinks of the 2010? I really want the PVT, Drive OFF Assist and Launch Control which the 09 doesnt have. I also am considering changing to the PDK. My 09 has full, full leather, meaning that it has almost all of the options Porsche offers in leather except the clothes hooks. It does not have deviated stitching though which i will get in the 2010 or 2011. I am considering the Aqua blue with black leather and yellow stitching with PCCB to match. thanks

You should wait for 2012 to work out the kinks from the 2011 model...

Just kidding. In all seriousness, the money you invested for all your options...leather, seats, trim, will not amount to much for a trade in or to the overall resale value. You will take a major depreciation hit for trading in your 09 for an '10 or '11.

You'll have to weigh how much you think LC and PDK are worth to you...you're probably talking about a $25-30K hit in value...minimum.

Do you drag race? If not, LC is more a novelty. Do you track your car? If not, torque vectoring is probably a doo-dad that you'll talk about more than actually use.

IMHO, the 2010 or 2011 or 2012 won't be worth the acquisition cost (including depreciation cost of your 2009). I recommend, therefore, you buy a different car altogether if you're not satisfied with your '09. If you want to stay in the Porsche family, how about a 2010/11 GT3 -- it's different enough I believe.

I 2nd that, I'd test drive a '10 GT3 if I were you. Alternatively you can pick up a megadeal on an 08 GT2, which with a few simple mods will outperform whatever TT is out in '10 or '11 (except perhaps 0-60 w/ PDK/LC if you're drag racing).

09's are the last of the M64 turbo motors. Reminds me of Mad Max - "it's the last of the V8's"

but, with the turbo s, who knows if they will make an '11 regular turbo! I was told that the turbos for 2010 and the turbo s which will be 2011 are 'it' for the 997.2. I really do want one, but leaves me 1 or 2 slots availabe to build an 's'. There are no regular turbo build slots left, only what is pre-ordered by the dealers. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I love the 09 TT i have but am also fascinated by the PVT, LC and other goodies that Porsche has planned for the 2010 TT. I was in thick traffic today and though how much easier it would be with the PDK. I guess if all the build slots are gone then it is a non issue though. I live in hawaii and the dealer here said that i could have had a build slot if i wanted to but i bought the 09TT due to the 1.9% financing and the 20,000 discount he gave me. That was hard to turn down. I have since put about 12000 back into the car in leather and other stuff though.

was at dealer today and he said that he had 3 TT S build slots and no regular slots for 2010. They got 2 TT for 2010, a coupe and a cab and thats it for the regular TT.

The car u have sounds pretty decent, why not keep it and add a few goodies? The hp will probably be around the same as what u have...IMHO

i think that is what i am gonna do. i may add the PSS10. i love my 09TT and will post pics once all the last bits of leather are in. Gemballla has made a RCC among other things and just waiting for that. Then Porsche in honolulu will add the final pieces. I bought almost everything from Suncoast in Florida and they are great. I was able to get almost all the leather pieces i wanted except for some of the exclusive stuff but Gemballa was able to make those albeit at a premium. Its gonna look sweet.
