I would suggest that it is the driver not the car that makes the modified minivan so competitive. It looks like Walter Röhrl is driving the van and some kid is driving the turbo.

The van uses a heavily modified 996 Turbo motor. I read a write up on it in one the auto rags. It tops out near 200 mph.

Walter Röhrl could be driving a mini bike and still beat most cars!!

He is the best IMO.

If you watch the other videos, it sounds like the van has somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 hp, with a modified Porsche engine. They also indicated 900nm of torque. Perhaps they are hinting at how easy it is to set a "production car" record at the 'ring with the right kind of "tweaking". I don't know, ask Nissan.

Im pretty sure Walter Rohrl is driving both if your referring to the timed test. If your referring to straight line it doesn't really matter considering the turbo is PDK
