997 GT2 RS Tuning / Cargraphic 600PS - installation pics

Pictures below are from today’s installation of the RS Tuning / Cargraphic 997 GT2 600PS package. The ECU (DME) was installed several weeks ago. So this is part 2 of the install which consisted of headers, 100 cell Motorsport cats & BMC air filter.
Observation # 1. The headers had internal burrs at the collector end which required grinding & pipes required cleaning due to filings present.

Fit between headers & turbo very good, only two issues - needed to reduce stud length on left hand side (one stud only) & grind nut width due to interference with header pipe.
Cat – left head side cat fitted very well. Only needed to grind off 5mm of the muffler (point which cat fits into muffler).

Cat – right hand side. Major issue with fit. Angle of cat exit (point which meets muffler at wrong angle) Action : cut cat into two pieces, corrected angle and TIG welded. This added three hrs to the installation process.

The fit quality of this package is very questionable.
From a performance perspective I am now seeing a good improvement. Much stronger through the mid range.

Are you doing this install yourself? Or via a certified Cargraphic partner/shop?

Very brave! I would personally only use a shop that had done the installs with the CG parts many times before - so would know exactly what to do about fitments issues.

Just went for a midnight drive (cooler temps). Performance gains are very noticeable after fitting the headers & cats today. The traction control light is flashing like crazy. 1, 2 & 3 gear. It is pulling 1.3 – 1.4 bar in a split second.

For the cost of this kit, you'd think RS Tuning would have done a better job with fit and finish. Little things like grinding or cutting stud lengths just really irritate me during an installation.

I hope the performance level makes up for their failures in the fabrication process.

Cargraphic make these cat housings, the ones I had from them fitted easily first time..... RS Tuning actually cut out the standard cat and weld in the new 100 cell unit so it looks factory, not like the CG approach.

They should have done a better job welding the cats back on. For the prices that they charge, you should expect absolute perfection from the weld quality to the fit and finish.

cutting, welding, grinding. These are the things that give aftermarket a bad name. I am happy to hear you are getting good performance results
