Why does the 997tt sound soo quite and drive so soft?

When I walked in the door tonight, I found the latest car and driver on the table. I quickly flipped through it since it has the latest turbo tested against the ZR1. In the lows for the turbo, it says: "disappointing exhaust note". Sounds like you're not alone...
