Techart owners:
Are the steering wheels offered in different thicknesses or is it one universal size?

What sizes are you guys looking at? My Lotus had a 320mm wheel (for handcuffs I guess) and it felt great. My new turbo feels like the Queen Mary with what I think must be a 380mm wheel (sport). I'd love something small and fat. Any of you guys see a 320mm? I wonder if it obscures all the gauges.

I'm not looking for a smaller diameter wheel, just thicker leather. FVD/Raid makes a 320 wheel. Feels GREAT. Can't comment on if it obscures the gauges. SUPER thick at the 3 and 9 positions. Todd at EVOMS has it on his car.

Thanks Mike. After hearing about Showking's eternal delay with his Vorsteiner wheel, plus the huge unknown with their stuff, I've decided to go with the Techart.
Just wanted to be sure there wasn't different thicknesses offered. End up getting one only to find out there was another, thicker version I could have purchased. Now....the wait.......

Hahahaha... Nope, nadda. In fact, I got a phone call on Monday that cracked me up. Vorsteiner called my salesman asking him what the options were that I ordered...Like what color leather and stitching I wanted. Hahaha. 3-3/4 months later and they're only looking for the specs now. What they were doing since December 8, I have no clue..I could have raised a f*cking cow and dyed and stitched my own leather and it still would have gotten done quicker. lol. All I can do is laugh and wait, it's not worth getting angry about yet. I soooo would have gotten a different wheel had I known this. I just hope the quality is top notch after all this, for everyone's sake. I'll keep you posted bro. -Showking

I've had the Techart leather covered wheel without the emblem for about two years and 15K miles. No signs of wear. It is slightly fatter than my stock M-3 E-46 wheel. Caution! Don't sell your original wheel, if you're going to buy a Techart as it will serve as your core. The only options I was made aware of when I ordered were the emblem delete and deviated stitching.

As an aside Atomic80 originally ordered a carbon fiber covered wheel, but the carbon fiber would eventually crack (We think from the heat of the sun shining on it). After several attempts at trying to get it right he finally went with the leather. I must say Techart was very cooperative in trying to make it right, providing 3 (I think) different wheels.

BTW although you'll have to go through the U.S. distributor to get your Techart wheel, I believe you could call Techart direct and ask questions. Atomic80 and I visited their shop a couple of years ago, and found it to be a top notch facility staffed by a great bunch of folks.

My carbon steering wheel also cracked in the heat last summer. CEC was great and wanted to replace it with an all leather wheel and refund the difference. I really wanted the carbon wheel so told them I would live with the crack for a while hoping they would solve the problem. Two months ago I emailed them to see if they had solved the cracking problem. They said yes and a few weeks ago my new Carbon Steering wheel arrived. When I emailed them I expected all kinds of problems since it had been 7 months since our last contact. Mark at CEC was great. Told me the problem was solved and to please confirm the exact specifications of my wheel. Kudos to CEC & Techart for standing behind their product. I can't speak to the customer service at Vorsteiner but TechArt & CEC customer service is above reproach.
