Don't have it yet. Installation will in about three weeks from now. Should be fine. I'll post more info right after...
i sent suncoast an email and they said that cant ship wheel with airbag as its not allowed as im in australia. ive contacted porsche here and there going to get back to me to see if they can fit it here using a local airbag are you in the same situation?
We can ship the steering wheel and other bits, but just can't ship the airbag to Australia. Let us know, thanks!

Nope... I wish I could tell you that. As of now, I got a phone call stating a "quality control failure" and it'll be here like Tuesday..... I'm starting to think this whole thing is an epic failure. If it doesn't come by mid-next week, I'm done. -Showking
IMHO, this is TOTALLY unacceptable - PERIOD

Good luck and keep us updated
Not to pour lemon juice in your wounds, but I ordered my wheel 3 weeks ago and it should be here on Monday
. Car is in the shop getting the Damptronics problem sorted. Hopefully have the wheel installed by next weekend.
Wow, SK. I'm really sorry to hear you had this horrible experience with V-steiner. But at least others can learn from your misfortune.

I'm glad to hear that your wheel's coming.. at least somebody's getting theirs. lolol. Hopefully mine will be here next week as well. Post pics when you get it, as will I. -Showking.
I totally agree with you... And no matter how nice people are on the phone the fact remains that this was definitely NOT a pleasant experience...AT ALL. From what I saw and was told, Vorsteiner's wheel certainly looked the part, but had I known any of the things that occurred recently were going to happen, I ABSOLUTELY would have gone with a different wheel. I just hope that all said and done, the wheel lives up to the quality that has been promised from Vorsteiner. I'll keep my fingers crossed and will believe it when I see it. -Showking
It's here
Just about 3 weeks to the day when I ordered it. Red deviated stitching, red 12 o'clock stripe, perf leather at 3 and 9, smooth leather at 12 and 6. Thing is BEEFY! I'm car-less at the moment or I'd install it right now. Hopefully by the weekend.
Question: I assume the multifunction buttons/panels off my OEM wheel replace the silver panels on this one?

Sorry, my post was poorly worded. I already have a MF wheel, so the required harnesses and programming are already in the car. My question is the triangular airbag wheels with and without MF buttons the same (i.e. will the the MF buttons and associated plugs off my OEM wheel physically fit the silver portions at 3 and 9 o'clock pictured in the Techart wheel)? Does that make sense?
I can't answer for sure, but I'm willing to bet a quick PM to either sponsor MACarbon or DCT will answer the question. By the looks of the PET catalog, it looks like it is a direct swap.

Well... not exactly Dan. It turns out that they were having an issue with the way the perforated leather came out. It wasn't up to their standards. I waited quite a while for this steering wheel (almost 15 weeks) and was looking forward to receiving it as the weather is getting better in NY and show season is starting. Now normally I get furious and start telling people off... but I actually can't this time... here are the reasons why:
I received a phone call last night from Vorsteiner stating that the wheel had to be done in smooth leather only, as opposed to the perforated 3 and 9 o'clock positions that I ordered because it just wasn't wrapping the way they had planned. After getting off the phone with them I sat and thought about things for a little bit.. On one hand I was pissed for obvious reasons, but on the other I was weighing my options. I could either settle for the wheel that I didn't order, or cancel the wheel and start from scratch... After calling numerous friends and gathering opinions, I decided to call Jon @ Vivid and cancel the order because after all it isn't a $100 or $200 item that I should settle on.. and the time frame was more than adequate to get things done right.
Now.. not long after calling Vivid, I recieved a voicemail from Vorsteiner, which, I have to admit took me back quite a bit.. It basically stated that they were gonna go ahead and refund the money for the steering wheel but were going to ship me the finished wheel anyway FOR NO CHARGE. Now, although I was blown away, and DEFINITELY appreciate Vorsteiner showing that they were still a stand up company after all by at least trying to make things right by waiving the cost (which is not miniscule by a logshot).. I am not the type of guy that responds well to freebies.
Today I contacted Jon yet again and tried to somehow split the cost with Vorsteiner so that there are no hard feelings towards anybody, and the loss wouldn't be totally one-sided, but Vorsteiner wouldn't hear of it.. Which brings me to say thanks to Peter over at Vorsteiner... who really did go above and beyond after the fact to keep the peace, which totally averted one of my usual "6-speed rants" as well as kept me as a customer in the future. And to Jon.. who always helps on the phone and returns calls like nobody's business.. lol. Thanks again guys. -Showking
P.S. Bonehead... that wheel looks sick brother.. enjoy.
