Car & Driver 997.2 Turbo 0-60 2.9 seconds!!!

When a post is not intelligent enough to deserve a response.
PDK is the medicine these Turbo cars have been needing all along, not to bring "fun" to the table in terms of good ol driving with a true manual gearbox, but for enabling the true Porsche Turbo potential to be brought into the spotlight again.
Just imagine a shift with boost staying on. drool
I bet true sequential shifters will be the next big thing on the tuner market for 996 and early 997, at least a half step in the direction towards having PDK.

Interesting tests. I guess it confirms my findings that the new 997.2 TT makes much more than the claimed 500 HP by Porsche. When I posted the dyno results from our tests, there were some who did not believe us. From what I have found, the 997.2TT makes ~525-530 HP/TQ stock.
Actually my ZR1 dynoed at 538 stock. That's only 50 HP more than the turbo was dynoed at. Throw 7 speeds, PDK, AWD and the results are no surprise.
Only 100 hp more?
Only 100+ lbs less?
When will people get that the Manual Turbo is just as fast other than 0-60 etc. If I'm not mistaken the Manual does not have Launch control either, which they easily could have put in the car considering it's on the manual GT2..........
The ZR-1 has more hp, less weight and better tires, what about that says the Turbo should go faster?
Oh wait, the imaginary PDK/DSG several seconds advantage.
They did not add 50 hp........

I agree, the PDK is just one more example of how true manuals are going to become an automotive dinosaur in years to come. Everyone is going auto/manual, better gas mileage, higher gearing lower RPM's, user friendly in traffic, lightning fast shifts, better performance, better track experience etc.
