Others may chime in, but when I starting looking at replacing the motor mounts I heard and read that using the solid (metal) mounts would transmit a lot of vibration into the chassis...and that you would feel it.

The people at Wevo were very helpful and make a very good mount. I would have gone with the Wevo SS (semi-solid) mount except they called me and said it would be 6-8 weeks before I got it so I canceled the order and went with the RS mount.

I mean 5000rpm and foot off from the clutch pedal..

Yikes!

I'd be more worried about the clutch than a little wheel hop.

not sure, but my car has 8000 miles so i doubt it was worn, both the mounts were like that. i dont know about solid mounts, ( i wanted something in between) i installed the gt2 mounts which are still hydraulic, but lot stiffer. if any one has old turbo mounts , i would like to see the play/movement on the shafts

Solid motor mounts transmit enough vibration to sometimes trip the knock sensors on the more modern cars. The ECU will then read knock and cut power (boost, timing) on the cars.

I don't see the benefit of a solid mount on a street car, but the GT2 mount sounds like a good option. In the day solid mounts were a race car part, I would be worried about loosening over time. Maybe someone can chime in here with some long term feedback.

i will give my thoughts on the g2 mounts once i install my exhaust. few people on the forum said its a waste of time, but i beg to differ as i see the difference between turbo mounts and gt2 mounts! UNLESS my turbo mounts were totally shot in 8k miles

I had the stiffer X73 motormounts on my old c4s, they def transmitted a lot of vibration from the engine. Would a set of 996tt x73 mounts fit a 997tt?
