APR ECU flash - is this right for me?
I'm currently looking for a stage one mod, an ECU flash for my 2008 997 tt cab with tip. I probably will not go for any further mods. The car is not my DD and I probably will not track it, but I enjoy the effortless acceleration that the car gives, particularly in the 0 to 90 mph speed band. The APR flash is appealing because of its high torque in the mid range. The popular flashes GIAC and Softronic have been well documented yet they appear to offer less.
My question. Are my assumtions heading in the right direction for my needs or not.
I have become addicted to this forum and get great pleasure from the experiences, pics and video that some dedicated members offer for the good of us all. Thanks

Ive learned to avoid looking at dyno sheets as decision making factors, I dont think any good flash is going to be lacking in the torque dept
EVOMSit, GIAC, Protomotive are all worth a look.

Tides,
I would definitely throw the EVOMSit software into consideration as well. EVO has 100's 997 Turbo's on the road running their software with an equal number of happy owners. There are many advantages to the software, feel free to get in touch and I'd be happy to discuss. We are located in Pompano Beach and would be happy to perform the reflash for you.

+1 Couldn't agree more.
All of them are fine...you will love the higher power and torque...Consider which has best customer service for you and go ahead...

I have the APR tune and a FVD exhaust. This past weekend I ran into Steve C. at the 12 hours of Sebring with the same set up. His dyno was 478hp to the wheels and 674lbs of torque. I have not had my car dyno'ed but am very happy with the tune.
478 AWHP with APR stage1?2? or 2 with 100oct fuel?APR states 3 different hp ratings...stage1 is 540 motor hp stage 2 is 560-570 and stage 2 with 100oct fuel 610hp...What was the setup on your friend?
Has anyone had problems selling their cars once they have been flashed? I was reading through the CPO flow chart for 911 Turbos, and any findings of a flash sends the car straight to wholesale.

But if you wanted to sell to a dealer, any decent dealer will flash your DME back to factory for you. However, if you have a lot of other mods (headers, exhaust, turbos, etc.) you will probably not be able to get CPO anyway.
APR reflash does not raise boost levels...After flash, even at stage 2 with race fuel, boost stays to 1,0 bar with 1,2 over...So it is not traceable through PIWIS...I ve got APR in my car and last sunday i spent 5 yours with PIWIS trying to locate the flash...even full log of the car did not trace it...So dealers can not find it...

+1. I have it on both my cars and couldn't be happier.
