Calling cannga...possible solution to "the click"?
Did i received the correct drop links from Tarett Engineering? They look different than can's version. I ordered the one for after-market coilovers and sways though.
I have Bilstein + GMG sway bars on my car.
Why one bolt is longer than the other?

You'll see when you install it, that's the way it picks up the bracket.
BTW, I agree 100% with Neil M, the issue is mating bilsteins to aftermarket sways. I hold that the position they are attached to the bar has a minimal effect. Everybody I know who has an OEM front bar, bilsteins and the dlink mounted inboard, as per the bilstein instructions has yet to pop a link. I have personal knowledge of 4 cars around me with no such issues, all 4 cars see the track regularly. Just sayin....
My solution:
They're baaaaaack!

The one you have looks like the one that replaces the cinch bolt on the hub carrier, which is why one bolt is longer than the other and the drop link is shorter. The drop link that mounts to the shock blade is longer and both bolts are equal length.

Which one did you pick? Tarret shows one for 996/997 TT/C4 and the other I think shows 996 TT/C4.

(Model = 996/997 TT/C4 w/ Moton, JRZ or JIC Struts, 997 TT/C4 w/PSS9/10 (Part #FDLNK9) )
(Option = Add Boots)
That is exactly what i selected when i ordered mine.
They seem quite short even at the longest adjustment compared to drop links supplied with bilstein coilover kit.
I ordered the same part and got the longer ones that mount on the shock blade but with out the boots.
Mines still hit's the hub carrier at full lock, Tarret is sending me spacers to push the top mount further back, I hope that will fix the problem.

I would call/email Tarrett to confirm if this is the right one. One thing to add: position and thickness of bolt/washer could be changed depends on sway bar, with the goals being a straight connection and good clearance of the connection (drop link body doesn't touch the coilover, etc.). If you think you need a shorter bolt or thinner/thicker washer, let Tarrett know and they will send it to you. Good luck and have fun.
An example is the rear drop link of my car:
