Phone questions (997.1)

So new to my 08 turbo.. I have an Iphone 3GS, and attempted sticking my SIM card in the slot last night. Nothing. I click the phone button on the top left, and the 'TEL' button in the middle, but I guess it doesn't recognize the SIM. Do I even have the phone option? I assumed since the buttons are there and the slot, but...

Your car has to have the telephone module option for the PCM to work.
The buttons are on all on them by default.
Look under the passenger seat, that is where the OEM phone module is located.

Oh, then my guess is that I probably don't have it, but I'll look tonight.

If I do not have it, but have a dension, I assume that I cannot get the bluetooth module to work, right. oh well.

You need to get the Denison BTA1500, may be off on the model to get bluetooth.

My car has the PCM phone module, it is not all that great tri band only does not support 850
and therefore reception is spotty.

I have the Iphone 3G as well and use it in the car with Tooki, works like a charm, very convenient and reliable, even the buttons on the steering wheel work. And you don't have to change sims.

valex, email me with any questions on adding Bluetooth to your Dension or adding Tooki if interested. We offer both.

I am kinda not happy about the denison unit. For the phone module you have to start all conversation via the PCM for the Bluetooth to work. I rather use my phone to initiate the call since it is alot faster

Eric, will do.

I have something under my passenger seat, no idea if it's the phone module or not. Is there any easy way to tell if I have the phone module or not?

And, if I already have the dension (Which arrived yesterday, eric, thank you!) there is quite a difference in price between the ~100 dollar dension BT unit and the expensive tooki.
