Some pics from a DE day yesterday

Hey guys - I'm not a professional photographer, but I know I always love looking at the ones you guys post - so here goes ...

A law firm we use here in town hosted a Drivers Ed day yesterday here at Race City Speedway in Calgary. I went last year in my Z06 and really enjoyed not only the instruction and the day, but also the huge variety of cars they had out (Ferrari 430 Scuderia, few Porsches, lots of BMWs, a GTR, a GT500, etc). We had had a good 5 or 6 days of rain so there was some water in and around the track which is pretty old and run down now. However the day was still a great success and I thought a couple of the shots turned out pretty well given the contrast between the gloomy weather, the old run down track, and a beautiful 997TT (or three)!

The Midnight Blue Turbo had the AWE 650 kit and man did it pull. The driver is also a better driver than I in terms of skill/experience but we had a number of laps together and it was very cool to see how much he was pulling me by on the straights (my car has EVOMS software and Tubi exhaust).

Oh yeah - the Ruf wheels are new for me. Clean and simple.

Old school vintage / worn down track. Something I really liked about the contrast. Think the last pic is my fav ...

Sounds like a blast! Btw, had a question about the open rear hood, does it significantly help with cooling between sessions? A few guys were doing this at the DE I did Monday, but not all.

Having the rear deck lid open would pretty much negate the effect of the engine cooling fan.

Yeah - admittedly I'm a novice track participant at best. I just did what the other more experienced turbo guys were doing. In Calgary with a cool mountain breeze I'm sure it does a better job of venting the considerable heat that builds up in the engine bay - but those fans are there for a reason! lol

Thanks Ray! Pics coming via email. I'm very happy with them and thanks again for a smooth transaction.
