Help with my 911 TT purchase?
I have only driven a PDK C2S. It was fun but I did not like the buttons too much. I agree the paddles are a must have. If I ever get a chance to drive my wife's car I'll give you better feedback. Supposedly you have to take it easy for the first 2000 miles so I don't know how much fun I'll be able to have.
When we were looking at other cars the CPO added about 3000 to the price of the car. It is probably worth it. Others can chime in if this is still the going rate

If you are looking 6 speed or tiptronic, I might look for a 2009 as you get the newer electronics and the more proven 997.1 engine.
If you are looking at pdk then obviously a 2010 or 2011.
You will be getting a different level of refinement from the vettes and mustangs. My wife just traded in her black Z06 for her car. Good luck with black...it's a ton of work but worth it.
Also, be careful completely trusting the carfax. Not all bodywork will show up on it.
I would try your local dealer too. They may know of a car that is coming in off lease or in trade that is not advertised.

FWIW, according to the Porsche dealer I do business with, a CPO car cannot have replaced body panels. Over the past two years, the customer service I've received at my dealership more than offset the additional cost of the CPO.
This is an informative thread as I find my self in a similar position as the OP. I too am looking at 08-11 Turbos. I definitely want a 6 speed car with a lot of the bells and whistles. Kind of leaning toward the '10-11 models for the additional power/torque, the dynamic engine mount, Porsche torque vectoring, etc. I am not one to mod my cars, so the 997.2 seems to make more sense for me. With all of the new gadgets, I hear the 997.2's handle better as well. This is not to discount the 997.1's as they are still awesome cars. I've just begun doing "my homework" and have made some calls in regard to ordering a '11 but have not been offered a much of a discount. Probably better to buy from inventory, of course, but you would think they would be more motivated in this economy. Any input/advice from you guys on this would be appreciated.
Ra34, how do you and your wife like the S so far and how does it compare to the Z06? I know the interior and fit and finish is clearly better on the P car but just curious how they compare performance wise.

I still haven't had a chance to take it for a ride as I have been shuffling kids all over the place and doing a lot of work. I can say that she put about 15 car lengths on me on the ride home and she swears she was only at part throttle. I was in her R63 mercedes. The R63 could at least keep up with the Z06 a little bit.
She loved the Z06 but she decided that she wanted something with back seats so we could carry some kids around. It also helps that the 911 is a little quieter inside the cabin. She like to do some of her work on the phone while she is traveling and it was hard for her to do in the Z06 on the highway because of the interior noise.
I'll let you know a little more after I get a chance to drive it.
I had looked all over the country for a non-black car. There are a few silver and a cream white available near me, if anybody is looking for a car on the ground. I believe I spoke with a dealer in California about a 2010 that had a 6 speed in it.
If anyone likes this color combo, this 6 speed 2010 has been available for a long time. It might be a good deal if it can be cpo'd. I have no affiliation with it.

to the OP, I got my TT in January, I was doing the usual, ebay, autotrader, craigslist, cars.com, porsche website dealer search.........what I found is a lot of BS. Through all the bs I found one place that treated me right from the start. They had a few cars to choose, they were straight up with their negotiations, and when I made the deal it went off without a hitch. In addition to that I had a tire issue recently and the dealership stepped in and took care of the cost of tires. I could not have had a better experience with this dealership. They are not too far from you and believe me they are worth the trip. Located in Cary and Raleigh NC, Leith Porsche is the place to go. I think they have a few CPO 09 turbos and may have some newer ones, but get in touch with either Melissa Cape or Garry Rawlins and tell them Danny from NY sent you. I think you will be very pleased with them. Good luck with your search.

How did you find Leith all the way from NY?
I was doing my search through the porsche usa website, went through all the turbos across the country at that time and Leith had what I was looking for, then once I spoke to them I knew they were the right people, flew down looked at the car, and drove it home 8hrs, great trip and great people
