experience w/ computer flash/upgrade?

what is the current thought on best company/product for computer remapping for turbo(2007). Does it do what it claims in print and can you feel it? Is it safe for engine? Does it affect warranty if dealer installs? Can it be returned to original parameters? Kind of looking for more exhilarating acceleration. I have a IPD plenum, AWE exhaust, and Fabspeed intake, seems I have improved intake and outtake and just need engine to respond.

You really need to spend time and do a search on this subject, as there are nearly 20-30 threads related to this subject matter...including your specific issues of safety, warranty, and ability to return to OEM stock configuration.

With the mods you have listed, I’m surprised you held off on the ECU tune to this point. From what I’ve read the ECU tune affects improve with other upgrades. I have read so many posts on this site some seem to blend, but I continue to read because I love the various perspectives. One common theme I’ve come across, and agree with, is to ensure you search for service quality as well as product quality…This is especially important for people far from the place where products are purchased. Based on your questions I would find a vendor/service installer that can dyno your vehicle as it is today and then with the ECU tune. You can then see for yourself if it meets your expectations and or meets what the vendor said it would. From what I’ve read the seat-of-your-pants experience far exceeds what a dyno sheet displays. Then again, there are so many on this site with computer boxes that provide real-time data…you could do this yourself before ECU tune and after, as so many on here have.

I lived in Phoenix before moving to Houston in June. I can give you a testimonial from my experience visiting two very well known vendors in AZ: EVOMS & Vivid… I would have felt comfortable using either vendor after spending a lot of time talking with the owner/techs. Two very high quality options in my opinion…I’ve yet to find the time to do the same in TX but I’ll eventually get around to it. I’m sure as you search this site you’ll find similar posts about a wide variety of vendors and those customers who are very happy with their experience/results. I’ve been a passenger in a Porsche turbo with a tune and straight pipes…and I can tell you it felt VERY different. The car pulled very hard!

Most of the software programs that are sponsors on this site are pretty good. I dont anyone can really argue any software is the best. The question you should be asking is, what is the best software for me. Some offer just software for your stock turbos and some offer for stock turbos and upgraded turbo packages and then there are several different ways to upgrade your turbos as well.

+1

This is my second EVO tuned car. Both have performed extremely well (as advertised, if not better), do not affect normal drivability at all, and have been very reliable.

I'm a newbie 977T owner (08') and have a set appointment in Philly, PA in 12 days with FabSpeed for EVO, exhaust and intercoolers. Massive research on my end first, and I have no apprehension. Will let you know how it goes

Protect Your FACTORY WARRANTY. Only Softronic can do this and we have some of the fastest and most reliable 997TT out there. Why remove your ECU from the car and crack open the sealed case? - http://www.softronictuning.com/tunin...lash-counters/

well, thanks everyone for their opinion. Seems I am no further along as each person/company has a different opinion and without directly slamming their competition have stated they are the best and, perhaps, only choice. I guess that would be expected. A few names keep popping up- I guess power in numbers? Maybe I should clarify-I don't need 1,000 HP and 0-60 in 3 seconds. I just want a little more than I have-bored I guess. I just want something relatively simple, inexpensive, durable, and fun. Which company, product? I am not racing every weekend as I have a wife, three kids, 2 dogs, and a full time job.

Just know the facts about each one. Understand the Convenience factor, warranty factory, cost factor. At the end of the day, would you pay $1000 more, have to have your car down for 3 days or more, and lose your warranty? I wouldnt.

BTW we have today as the last day to get 20% off the Softronic flash. You can see how easy it is to do at your home at your leisure by reading www.softronictuning.com.

Does the warranty aspect of this have to be BEATEN LIKE A DEAD HORSE as a sales pitch on every threads.. Its been argued in here 15354748595x that there is till NO 100% GUARANTEE that any ECU REFLASH will NOT VOID WARRANTY,,

Does Softronic provide a disclaimer that says if PORSCHE VOIDS WARRANTY DUE TO SOFTRONIC REFLASH THAT SOFTRONIC WILL COVER THE REPAIR?? If not then there is no guarantee and I wouldnt say that is a good marketing tool..

I just sent a customer with previous EVOMSit.com tune we flahed back stock to the dealer and they actually overwrote the file and NEVER said a word about it being flashed and they looked.. So can i Advertise EVOMSit as undetectable???

Mike

If Champion is offering this then i would say you guys are the ONLY ones I know of who can say a Flash cannot void the warranty if your giving the customer something in writing.. As far as i am concerned ANY OTHER FLASH can void warranty unless there is something in writing that it wont.
