997.1 LED Tail Light Available
If you do get things sorted out I'm in for a pair - despite the beating I'll get from the wife for getting the red taillights already.
Looks great! Ray - can you also let us know what bulb options exist for the rear fog light - the inner light. I wasn't sure if you could perhas do LED bulb in there as well.
Success
Just installed the resistor as described in one of my previous posts (V-LEDs). After 4 different combinations of wiring the resistos (instructions are non existent) finally got it to work. Turn signal error light gone! They provide a nice aluminum housing for the heat build up. After 5 minutes of continuos turn signal use the housing does get hot to the touch (with this car you should'nt have to signal for that long anyways). Most of the light housing on the car is metal anyways. I stuck the housing in the far anterior part of the light housing of the car- no exposure to any plastic parts.

(sorry, it was easier to turn the emergency flashers to show that the signal LED lights do work)

The wiring is quite simple. The turn signal harness, at least on my car, was the yellowish harness. The rest of the harnesses are black or dark brown. Basically you will tap into the RED (2) and Black (1) wires from the LED light unit. These two wires will need to be connected to the resistor using those blue connectors. So the labelled (1) wire from the LED light will connect to ((1)) wire to the resistor using those blue connectors. (2) will connect to ((2)). Do not tap into the wires coming from the car (wires labelled ((3)) and ((4)).
These were the first two pictures I took when I started the projected, this can be witnessed by the incorrect tapping into wires 3 and 4. My hands got greasy with the silicone lubricant and I did not take final pictures of the finished set up. If you want final pictures of the set up, let me know I will be happy to pull out the light once again and take pictures (I'm getting quite good at this).

great work 2020 and thank you.
Yes, you will need one for each sides. A couple more quick questions:
1. Did it come up witn one or two resistors when you order the $20 enclosed unit?
2. I like the idea of enclosed unit but were you able to find room for the resistor? I was thinking about just buying the resistor just because lack of room. Picture of your mounting location would be great!
Also, I doubt that factory will fix this. Putting resistors on is fairly straight forward as long as someone has done the homework and identified the correct wires to tap into and which resistors to purchase. Furthermore, I am not sure how they will incorporate the resistors into the housing without causing more problems due to excessive heat. Mounting them away from plastic is the best solution.
Ray (Rottec) - can you let us know what the final group price will be?
