Question on NOS application

Hi,

i have never heard of a Porsche running a nitrous oxide system, and i was wondering why. I know that you need special pistons to run safely with Nos. A lot of 700-800WHP Porsches have their engines rebuilded so why don't they use the cheapest +100WHP option?

There have been a few that ran nitrous safely on their porsches. I have been considering it or spraying the intercoolers on my 997tt. If I did spray the car it would be a very small shot. Probably a 75 shot. The cool down it would get would be like spraying it with a lot more.

On a stock block definitely not. The torque hit is instant and the stock rods will have difficult time controlling that, especially if you are looking a big nozzle...

Then if you could make everything to work safely the duration would only allow the car to run on the drag strip or street racing...

It is a cheap power add on which IMO I don't feel it fits the character of the car...

Even for intercooler spraying I would be careful with the placement of the nozzles because I wouldn't want to contaminate my intake air with nitrous thus changing the o2 level for which the car isn't tuned for... Difficult but it can happen...

just stick with methanol for cooling and timing advance do search, EPL posted pics and install the reason for no dyno is i didn't want Todd K wasting time because i decided on champions 68mm turbos 10min after system was finished be installed 997 Turbo Aquamist water/methanol injection install ( 1 2)

I heard that recently one of the tuners is working on installing GT40s on a rebuilt engine.
I think that he intends to use nitrous to start the turbos spooling and eliminate lag. Once natural boost comes on, NOS is switched off.

It can be done. Requires attention.

Much less forgiving than turbocharging.

old guy from 360 Forged was spraying nitrous and..
there was a guy here in kuwait running his 996 GT Street 3.8 with nitrous wasnt running good and he break his engine
i believe the porsche ECU is a very complicated ECU , spraying nitrous on the engine will make the ECU reduce timing and car will act stupid !
i dont advice forget about it ...
