DIY: All fours up on Jack Stand?

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but any input would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to get my car up in the air to swap out rims/tires and pads in order to switch back to street application hardware. I may not be able to complete this in a timely manner, i.e. one session. Therefore, wanted to get the whole car up while finding time to work on it.

Question, I understand how to get the front end up on the jack stands, but how the H do you do the rear?

I searched online and found mixed information (negative and positive) on using the engine case. I looked under my 09 997TT and there is just a thin fin where the cases join...seems a bit iffy/sketchy to me.

Firsthand experience and maybe a photo of the jack point would be great.

Thanks in advance for your time/help.

I just use two floor jacks at the std jack points and do one side of the car at a time. Takes 3min to take down the jacks and prop up the opposite side. I've done it this way a 100 times. A lug nut stud/wheel guide makes the job easier. GL

Is that the black bar that runs left to right just in front of the rear wheels...kind of where the motor and tranny meet up?

RE: Bonehead///"BTW, anyone know where I can get those jackstands with the flat tops?”

Bonehead...I picked up “Big Reds” 3 piece aluminum jack stands from Pep Boy’s. They have a 6,000lb load weight capacity and pack away into nice little box when not in use.

BTW: I’m going to try 335/30 and 245/35 on my street wheels...ordering them tomorrow... Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position RFT RE050A’s...I recently put a set on my wife’s 993 and love them for the street.

Do they have the flat or fork tops?

What are your street wheels/offsets? Please let me know how those sizes work out!

Nice. Thanks!

Attached is a picture of the stands I picked. One nice thing, the bases are flat and wont dig in or scratch your finished garage floor.

325’s and 245’s will be going on Champion RS171 19’s: R 11.5” F 8.5”.
Rear offsets are 44 fronts are 53.

Re the wheel stud guides, the dealer has them, like 6$ each. Be careful with 325's on a turbo, some have had awd issues.

Skeeter, when you have a second could you please take a look at the attached photo to confirm the correct jack point. I have illustrated the cross bar (that we have identified in a prior post) in blue and then numbered what looks like could be viable jack points. Which one can I safely use???

Thanks
