Diverter valve install. Hard to do?
Diverter valve install. Hard to do?
Is this something that should be brought to a shop to do or can it be done by someone with some mechanical ability in their garage?
If you have patience and dexterity you should be able to do it no problem.
These are extremely easy to do! If I remember right there are 3 8mm bolts that you undo and then it slides out...You remove the vacuum line...Just need to jack the car up as well...Shouldn't take you more than 30mins...
It'll take a little bit more than 30 minutes. The driver side is a little bit of a pain, you'll need to most likely move the plastic intercooler pipe aside to get to one of the bolts.
Here is how they assemble on to the turbo - http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...?cID=10&pID=85
I do not have one that shows removing the on the actual turbo.

I did mine recently with parts ordered from Vivid. Passenger side is fairly easy taking about 30 mins while the drivers side is a bit more time consuming. You will need to remove the intercooler piping on the drivers side to remove the old dv and install the new one.
