GIAC software for the Porsche Turbo S is now available
GIAC software calibrations are now available for the 2011 Porsche 997.2 Turbo S DFI (Direct Fuel Injection). This software calibration offers a few dramatic improvements over the factory performance software upgrade.

· Improved crank horsepower and torque gains at 64 hp/94 ft lbs of torque with intercoolers and exhaust.<O
</O
· Improved throttle response for a drive-by-cable system feel.<O

· Increased torque limits to accommodate additional hardware modifications.<O
</O
· Speed limiters raised to factory redline in final drive gear.<O
</O
· Stock mode and a handheld switcher are included with purchase. Additional switching modes (100 octane Race, Anti-theft, Valet) are also available for purchase.

Dynamometer test results from an MD-500 Mustang dyno are included here. The graph plots power tests (wheel HP and TQ) for a 2011 Porsche 997.2 Turbo S DFI on 93-octane fuel. The red lines denote a completely stock Porsche Turbo S with OEM software, exhaust and intercoolers. The light and dark blue lines are measured with GIAC 93 octane Turbo S software, Champion Motorsport intercoolers and Tubi Race exhaust.

This calibration includes a GIAC Flashloader Handheld Switcher and stock mode. Please contact myself or a Porsche authorized GIAC dealer to receive MSRP pricing on this software.

The above graphs I have posted show physical gains by RPM over stock. This allows all of you to see just how much power we gain across the entire power band, versus how much of a gain we see from peak power of stock tests to peak power of flashed tests. The maximum gains I have posted are above 3300 RPMs to alleviate any anomalies from the PDK transmission.

Awesome. I have a couple questions:
(1) does this work with a 2011 6spd 911tt ? If so what are the gains -- in sport mode ?
(2) what are the gains if you retain the stock intercoolers and exhaust ?
(3) assuming that the "race" exhaust is catless ?
Thanks

I will post a graph from a flash only car shortly.
Yes, this exhaust is catless.
Austin, I am sure we will get these questions as well. Let's get them in the open so there is no confusion.
1. Can this be done via mailorder, or in-car flash only?
2. Will you have programming for cars outside of the U.S. and Canada?
3. Detectable by the dealer?
4. Will this alter gas mileage?
5. Free upgrades for life?
Thanks for posting the results. I am sure this will be huge. Lots of S cars running around out there.

This software can be bench flashed or installed through the OBD2 port. DMEs can be flashed via mail order with no issues whatsoever as our system is setup to handle either.
Yes. Our software is available for any and all 997.2 Turbo S vehicles worldwide. The same applies to our normal 997.2 Turbo software.
For normal service (oil changes, brakes, etc...), it is very unlikely a dealer will even searc for a flash. However, in extreme circumstances, a DME readout will reveal most any flash. Though these cases, almost never arise, if the risk is too much, modifying the vehicle is not advisable.
This is very subjective and dependent on the driver's personal driving habits. Naturally, when you have a flash, going pedal to the metal all of the time will result heavy fuel consumption. However, under normal highway driving situations, fuel economy can actually increase a bit.
When we release new file revisions, all GIAC customers are entitled to upgrade to these new file revisions. However, we cannot control what GIAC Dealers charge for their time to install them. If a customer wanted to upgrade to a larger turbo kit, this type of "upgrade" would not be free.

Here is a comparison between stock, flash only and flash with exhaust and intercoolers. You can see the bolt on parts yield quite a bit of power under the curve.

The GIAC flash only yields nearly 50hp and 66 ft/lbs. of torque at the wheels over stock.
Here are the same "gain over stock" graphs I posted but reworked to show what the flash does without hardware.

These are actual dyno measurements collected at 4 wheels on a Mustang MD500. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your phrasing? I am not sure what is so hard to believe.
Hey Artur777, I have a 07 turbo that I had Champion Motorsport install this GIAC software and all I can say is I SHOULD HAVE DONE IT SOONER! There is a night and day difference in how the car pulls. It was worth every penny. Good Luck!
Night and Day difference is how I can best describe it! However, the differences are in all the right areas. Drivability is still factory smooth.
The new GIAC Turbo S software is nothing short of amazing. We have flashed about a dozen cars in-house and through our dealer network with all end users bousting about the great results. The power is intense and drivability remains intact.
We offer this software as follows:
-Software only
-Software tuned for aftermarket exhaust
-Software tuned for exhaust and intercoolers
-Software tuned for exhaust, intercoolers and larger 68 mm Billet turbochargers
Thanks again GIAC for all of your tuning support.
