I'm guessing you guys have seen this by now?
I see the Porsche was last off the line but it appears it has met its match.

That's not a lambo, it looks like it from far (way far), it's a McLaren MP4-12C or what the media it's calling it, Ferrari's worst nightmare.
I saw it on youtube as well . The Mp4 -12C is extremely light and apparently one of the US selected dealerships just happens to be in my neighborhood (lol).
So far I have read up on it but it hasn't even been launched here . It is the first car outside of of the Porsche domain that I think has blown me away with its first impression. I don't have any idea how reliable the car is or whether it can be appreciated in a city setting . I suppose its just one of those dream cars which left better in fantasy than to actually buy it. I keep telling myself that .

Well.. its a possible contingency plan if P doesnt manage to get the 911TT right. Its sure going to be up against some stiff competition.....no doubt about that. Only problem may be the price
. Plus what you say about how it will fit in a city setting may inflict certain impracticalities in being able to drive the thing without being constantly harrassed.
For the McLaren they are talking high 10s 1/4 at around 135mph traps, which is insane for a factory car...
I believe the Porsche didnt really start properly, but the McLaren is in a different league!
As mentioned before it will be Ferrari's worse nightmare, since price wise they are pretty close. The Porsche is still 100K cheaper!

Quite correct. That extra 100 will knock a few players out of the ring. P may still hold a safe seat afterall

Long long ago, when real men shifted with manual transmissions, and when Porsche engineers were burly Germanic tribesmen, the 911 Turbo required skill to launch properly with AWD.
With the introduction of PDK mated with VTG turbochargers, the Turbo launches like a bolt out of a ballista. Like the GT-R and any other AWD system mated with a preloading double clutch transmission, it overcomes horsepower and weight disadvantages.
It's too bad that the race wasn't followed from within the car over a mile long track.

Yep it would have been funny if it was found that the P crossed the finish line first.
Mind you the TT managed to catch and pass the Fez up the straight even though it was last out of the gate.
