My car puts down 560 rwhp on a Dynojet. Btw, it's been converted rwd.
More importantly, it makes 600 ft. lb's tq rw. The torque curve is nice
and flat from about 2700 and peaks around 4500 rpm's. The car has been
lightened 340 lb's and 120 lb's of that is rotational mass. I'm posting 7.3s
60-130 on pump at 1.2 bars, 6.5s on 100 octane at 1.4 and high 5s on 104
octane at 1.5 bar.

I think the way a car makes power is more important than a peak horsepower
number. Hp to weight ratio is a strong determinate as well. We also need to
remember that dynos don't measure horsepower, not even the engine dynos.
Dynos measure torque and hp is a mathematical derivative based on torque
and engine speed. I have roughly the same crank hp and weight as the GT2 rs
but my car is significantly faster. The difference is torque. I have about 100
more ft lb's.

This is an older thread but wanted to see if anyone recently has any 60-130 times and what your hp and turbo setup is. I know there is the list but that just has times and doesn’t show what kind of power the car is making or what the setup is

I’m running 5.69 seconds 60-130, including a 3-4th gear shift. My shifting is not the best, a good driver could cut 1/4 second off that with no problem. A tip or PDK would cut 1/2 second off that . I’m at 750 wheel hp, 750 wheel torque running Xona XR1000 turbos, on 91 pump plus methanol injection. I’m running ID 1300 injectors, and my motor is now 3.8L, not the original 3.6L displacement.

Sounds like a really solid setup. There are so many variables but it’s nice to see what different cars can do. I’m hoping with my new turbos I can get low 6’s

Keep us posted! What turbos are you running? What are the details of your car- tune, turbos, etc?

I wish more people driving the older cars (996tt and 997tt) still were into this. Seems like the glory days are gone now that these older cars seem to be more collectable and fewer people mod them. I'm still enjoying driving mine regularly. These cars are truly awesome.

Very old thread, but seeing as it has been resurrected, I'll play.

Yes, for everyone above, from posts 11 or so, yes, my old 996 Turbo had 250lbs of weight loss, including RWD conversion. Ran 6.0 like clockwork, hot cold, any weather, but ran a few 5.99's on a good day...(or night). That was just EPL tuned with 18g's, exhaust, injectors and 100% meth. Stock IC's, stock airbox, etc...
For the record, I think Mike's assumptions are realistic for the most part...obviously LOTS of variables, but a good starting point for anyone curious...

I can also provide input to this..

My 997 Turbo has Xona 5756's, which I believe are the "new" XR1000's, so same turbo (57lb/min wheel). I have ALL supporting mods, pauter rods, head studs, ID1300's, etc...Tuned by AIM Performance/ESMotor. My car made 825/795 on pump/100% meth and 918/891whp on MS100/100% meth. My expectation was to run mid 4's, but I've only been able to run 5.20's on a good day. Usually 5.4'-5.3's. Also this car is full weight, AWD...

Very cool- Sounds like our cars are very similar. My motor is built also.... Carillo rods, EVOMS head studs, Protomotive twin disc clutch, etc. On crappy west coast 91 pump plus meth, the car made 800 wheel HP, but we dialed it down a bit for everyday driving (to 750 wheel HP). On e85 I'm at 850/810 whp/tq. I haven't run a 60-130 yet on e85. I think it's tough to compete with the modded newer 991tt and 992tt PDK cars on 60-130 runs with our manual transmissions. The 1/2 second (or more) flat spot in the Vbox or dragy graphs that the shifting and loss of boost causes is not helpful to our times! But our cars pull just as hard as any other with the same power to weight in any given gear. And I'll gladly take the "slower" numbers on the graph for the fun and challenge of driving the manual.

Yeah ,I read your whole build thread and followed your progress closely. I suspected that when I bought my car, I had what you had. It took me a bit to find out what I had. I bought my car from some knuckleheads in Florida, who knew what they had, BUT had no idea what they had.
I flew down and drove it home and started "unbuilding" it. I finally figured out what the turbos were, and went from there. I ended up needing a clutch immediately, so put another 764 pressure plate in, which is what was in there and promptly slipped it. The one I took out was actually broken. I just bit the bullet and put the Protomotive dual disc in.
I ended up changing nearly everything except the turbos and headers. I was told that (and it was in the for sale AD) that the coolant fittings were all pinned or welded. Within a month of getting it home, it started leaking. So I ripped the engine out and started down this path. New D088 intercoolers and hoses, new D088 Y-pipe, ID1300's, AIM's customer meth kit and the HKS EVC 6 IR 2.4 (best BC ever). I also replaced the whole stereo system, including stereo, amp and speakers. Put a big fat carbon steering wheel in too.
