Differences between 997 GT2 and GT2RS

the RS intake is plastic the other is aluminum. If anyone has tried both and knows of any difference in flow I would be interested to know. The turbochargers are also the same except that the 997.2 VTGs have the DRVs outside the turbo cartridge (which apparently is better design).
Intercoolers are slightly shorter but thicker. (and a hell of a lot better!)
Engine is same with the exception I guess of conrods and pistons
In main the GT2RS engine is almost the same and power is mainly because of higher boost and much better cooling.
The RS' value lies on the excellent suspension combo and some weight saving that P developed for this car. Or course most of the above can be easily retrofitted and further developed but then the RS will be an iconic limited car and as such more special I guess (and more marketable).

The RS is an awesome car...but I am sure the 100K plus difference cannot simply be put in performance numbers, right?
With the price difference between a GT2 and a GT2RS, I am absolutely sure you could make the GT2 just as good/fast as the RS...but, at the end of the day, it is still not an RS.

Agree with you!

Compression 9:1
As far as part numbers are concerned, I believe you are correct. It appears the intake manifold for the GT2 and GT2RS have different part numbers (one is plastic, the other is aluminum) but the internal design and specifications are identical.

We had one on the lift here for a little while and the turbochargers are different. Our initial impression is that they're the VTG's off the .2 turbo, or very similar in size. We didn't have enough time with the car to really "explore"
Correct on that one.
Don't quote me on this one, but I *think* the intake manifolds are different too. Again, not sure...
