3.8L VTG GT2 Upgrade Taking Shape...
Actually it was back in our shop a few weeks ago for an oil change and still runs strong as ever!
Reviving an old thread.
I'm starting to consider a 3.8L conversion on my 997.1 GT2RS clone. I have pretty much everything Champion WRT externals (intercoolers, turbos, etc.), running a custom COBB tune.
Odd thing is, I'm pretty sure I have the 68mm VTG Champion turbos, however you guys only sell the 65mm turbos for the 997.1 now. Odd.
Are you guys offering this as a full 3.8L conversion kit? Can you PM me costs?
Obviously I'm shopping around for price, power and reliability - who would you recommend as a second choice, EVOMS?

I'm sure it will be awesome but why are you sticking with vtgs? I love vtgs but after going Xona I don't see any significant advantage to vtgs, and since you're building your engine you could definitely unleash some decent non-vtgs without worrying about your rods etc....
I track my built 997 turbo bored out to 3.8. But I'm using enhanced GT2 VTG turbos. No issues at the track. Puts down and handles the power very well. Have to be very conscious on how much throttle your pushing out of the turns but can obliterate almost anything in the straights. This additional horsepower and track usage certainly requires more attention to your suspension setup. Which I've just recently enhanced to handle better. Knock on wood but car performs flawlessly.
