997 Turbo Gen1 questions

HI,

Picked up my '07 Turbo today. What a car!!! It's a manual and has about every package in the book. PCCB, rear diff lock, short shift, sports chrono,... just over 6000 miles on the clock.

So got a few questions.

1) When I turn the engine off I get that rumble. I take it that is normal?

2) Had that vibration which looked to come from the dash. Turns out to be the rear few mirror - so that's sorted.

3) Got this other vibration. Looks to be metal on metal. Hard to tell but somewhere from the center console or the bottom of the seats. Any idea?

Regards

The other vibration might be your chrono clock. Mine did it from the get go on and off. My buddy who's a tech said it's common and the dealer can get at it, but he said it usually ends up worse off than if you left it alone, so that's what I did.

Congrats on the new addition!

You should hear (and feel) it when you shut down with the car in neutral. Do it then with the clutch pedal depressed - major difference.

So I found 3 out of 5...

1) rear view mirror vibration at times
2) passenger side speaker cover
3) handbrake release button (aluminium) vibration

The other two will be found soon!

Man - I love that car!!!!!!!!

And Thanks! Pressing the clutch eliminates that noise.

Mine does it. If I don't press the clutch in then there is a tumbling/rumbling sound on shut down. Clutch depressed and the noise goes away. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about either way, but from now on I'm pressing the clutch in when I turn the car off
