Call Fabspeed. You should be able to disconnect the cats separately and send them to Fabspeed for a swap (if in fact they are the problem.)

FABSPEED MOTORSPORT WARRANTY INFORMATION
Fabspeed offers a lifetime limited warranty on all our systems. The lifetime warranty is offered to the original purchaser and covers materials and construction. If the system should ever have a problem, the original purchaser must send the systems back to Fabspeed for inspection and Fabspeed will repair, fix, or replace as required determined by Fabspeed’s technical staff.

Fabspeed is not responsible for any costs including (parts, labor, shipping required for service and miscellaneous) incurred by the customer for warranty.

Warranty applies to construction and materials only. There is NO warranty of sound quality as this is subjective. Please call us with questions at any time.

thanks, i appreciate it...

my guy who installed it called Fabspeed and they said there's a two year warranty on the cats, its been less than two years so hes going to pull some codes, send them over to fabspeed and hopefully fix this all soon

porsche said the codes were cat-related so we'll see...

i'm surprised after 5,000 miles that this would happen

Do you have the exact OBD code?

There are a lot of reasons why a cat will go bad - fuel, frequency of driving to operating temperatures, etc.

Save some time and money with these bung extensions

I had the same problem on my 2008 TT. Love the sound and performance of my exhaust. I got these (takes about 15 minutes to install on the post cat bung port). Fixed the problem.

I think it is a common problem with the Fabspeed cats. I know they use high quality HJS cats, but this CEL occurs more often than what people are led to believe. I had the CEL go off on my M3 with Fabspeed high flow cats after around 7k miles. Fabspeed will likely have you put in spacers for the O2 sensors if you do not have them already.

Even after having my Cats replaced by Fabspeed (which they did with great service), I still get a CEL every once in a while. I bought an OBDII tool at Sears (about $90) and when ever the CEL comes on, I simply connect the OBDII tool and erase the code. It takes about 30 seconds.

Common, rarely a bad cat but rather a finicky ecu, flash it and tell them to adjust post cat o2 sensor or install those bungs with mini cat. Simple extensions don't work well.

Putting in bung extensions might solve the cel problem but not the problem with bad cats if that's the case.
