CEL help
On my way home from dinner last night my car threw a CEL. No obvious issues as all gauges look good and have checked all fluids. I did have a Fabspeed version 2 exhaust installed 2 weeks ago. Could this be the issue? I have only had EP's in the past with never an issue. Are there any inherent issues with the Fabspeed cats?
Thanks in advance

You have your answer. The exhaust/cat is surely the source of the cel.
I would scan the car first to pull up the code to be certain.
if it's the exhaust the only true fix is to replace the system.

Thanks TTS. No flashing. It's going in the shop on Monday. If it's the cats another 6speeder recommended that I ask my dealer to flash my car with the Euro2 Porsche program. What do you think?
doubt there is a problem with the cats, its just the vast majority of them trigger a CEL. It seems the only one that does not is the Europipe.
Sure all of them claim 'no CEL' as did cargraphic however over time it appears, typically 'too rich' CEL i.e. the converter is not doing its job very well.

It sounds like it could be one of two things, gas leak due to fuel cap not being tightened - it can cause the CEL to appear even a few days after fueling or more likely an O2 sensor throwing a CEL due to the high flow cats. If this is the first time it's done this it could very well be a bad batch of fuel with lower octane.
Best thing to do is have it read out out - else all we can do is speculate. Although I've had the CEL appear a few time on extended road trips when no 93 and up octane fuel was available, or getting a bad batch (also have high flow cats).

I didn't really switch. I sold my 996tt and bought the 997tt. I had 3 europipes on previos 996tt's and could not have been happier. When I picked this car up I did wheels (no pic yet), a full detail, LED's for the taillights, thought I would wait till next spring for the EP. I had already talked to Stef. I saw this FS version 2 for sale when I was posting some tires for sale on this site. Good price, a lot of users on this forum of FS and said why not give them a try. May be not the best decision at this point.
Why do you ask?

I was told by Jeff at Fabspeed that I can install 02 sensor extenders and that should eliminate the CEL problem. Jeff was very helpful and got back to me very quickly.
Anyone have any experience with these extenders?

Yup, they're the little 90 degree elbows, they work great.
