Would you buy a 997tt withouth Sport Chrono
SubscribeThe answer to this lies in the horsepower and torque curves. PEAK horsepower is not increased but horsepower at various engine speeds is increased. The owners manual actually has the power curves in it showing what the over boost function adds. Take a look. Of course if you don't have the car yet, a bit hard and some dealers don't keep the owners manual in the car on their pre owned inventory.

You're correct...and I should have said no increase in absolute HP. There's a prevalent misconception that SC increases HP above the 480 mark.Originally Posted by dyc1077

A nice informative link on Sport Chrono. PASM is a nice option that comes with Sport Chrono to improve handling in the curves without the throttle remap that full Sport mode gives.

Over boost is any time you like on Turbo (not just launch). On Carrera the only option not already available via PASM etc, is really just the remapped throttle pedal - which has no real benefit (in fact loss of sensitivity is arguably a bad thing), as full throttle is still achieved at 100% pedal travel any way.
PDK sharpens up its shifts though.
