I have exactly the same issue,.. I buyed a 8 pin aux 3.5 jack just to plug and play (mp3, BB, iphone, computer, [...]), i don't want to add any other kind of system or modulator.
i already plugged to my PCM 2.1 in a porsche 911-997 but my PCM didn't recognize the aux cable.

Any help???.. appreciate.

There is no good way to do this without getting a Dension unit or similar, sorry, it sucks that the 997.1 had this ancient system...
