I love 4th gear as well. Especially with my Europipe exhaust and Fabspeed Headers. Has great boost, torque and exhaust note in 4th with Sport Mode. Pulls great for the most part on all roads, local or highway. And yes it is a dentist thing.

93 octane faithfully...Lucas Oil Lubricant once a month fill up......
SC off ..PSM OFF...PASM varies off/on......double cluth rev match and let the RPMs smoothly whine to 7K.

6th gear cruising gets me 24MPG with new clutch installed......not kidding.

Does ph.D count?

It will pay off in the end! The main point I always emphasize is you must enjoy you work, otherwise life's going to be tough. Are you thinking of doing a fellowship after boards? Hang in there.

Cheers,

And I do love it that's why I can't get away from the office. Wife had to threaten me with physical harm to take a wk off so I caved and we drove my new TTS to Miami and back from NYC.

Talking Revs versus long engine life

There is an old wives tale that suggests that driving with engine revs under 3K revs will prolong the life of ANY engine substantially. Just mathematical mechanical engineering reality.
