New 2012 Turbo S coupe
Hello all!
So I left San Antonio TX in my 08 Cayeene Turbo at 4 am last Weds and drove till about 6 pm which got me to Bowling Green KY. Never had a road trip up that way and some of the surroundings were beautiful not to mention some fun highways to run the Cayeene on with the PDCC, porche dynamic chasis control.
Woke up early on Thurs am and was on the road by 530am after a starbucks stop. I lost an hour with the time zone change but was in bedford, beachwood OH just after lunch time. This was the first time that I was very hesitant to buy mainly due to how much I thought I would miss my Cayeene TT which has every option that I wanted and had picked up last summer.
Needless to say when I saw the new car in person I was pretty much done. After a test drive, I was really done. The car is guards red and has black int with red deviated stitch all over and red dials, seat belts, some nice carbon fiber at gear lever, ebrake and dash trim, black rs wheels, body painted ft spoiler, side rockers and rear lwr valance, clear brake lights, and sport adaptive seats.
You may recall my seat dilema, and boy am I glad I held out for the 10 out of 10 car. I choose to buy instead of lease because I think this one will be a keeper for longer than 3 years. I had a 05 guards red turbo S cab back in 2007 so this car has some pulling of my heart strings.
My overall driving impressions are that it is much more refined than what my 03 996tt coupe was like when stock. I got est 22 miles per gallon doing around the speed limit +/- when in regular mode. I did get a ticket in KY for doing 90's and had some followers very close by and he pulled all 3 of us over. I lost about an hour meanwhile he did his job on 3 commissions so decided to not get a 2nd on the same trip back.
The pccb's are AWSOME! One light tap and the car feels so light based on how fast it slows down. The car has 1500 miles now and I did punch it a few times on the way home but did not use sport plus or launch only sport mode. Just a few foot in it pulls to train the computer and tranny how I would be driving from time to time.
I used sport plus for quick sprint today on the way to the detailer to get clear bra and tint done. It pretty much is a rocket ship! I love how comfy and daily drivable it is yet I know that I could have a ton of fun at the road course in sport plus mode not even having to use the paddles. They sure look cool though.
I know, I know, I am lame that I did not do a single photo. Pics or ban....etc.....
I promise I will post some in a day or two when I have the car back. The folks at Porsche of Beachwood OH did a great job over all. I meet a tech who works their who has an extensive road race experience and he was very helpful with some tips on my 996tt track beast.

Congratulations on your new car. Guards Red is THE best color! Sorry about the ticket but a road trip is the best way to bond with your new car.
Does your car have the Center Lock wheels? What brand tires and model came on the car?
Can't wait to see your pictures.
Cheers

Thank you! Yes centerlock in shiny black, if I had my druthers I would have preferred the turbo II bc I have HRE P40's in black that I could have used as well and had more options if I track from time to time.
Mich PS2's in 235-35-19 ft and 305-30 or 35 19 rear I think.

He pulled all 3 of us over. Did not know they could do that. Anyway it certainly calmed me down for the rest of the 12 or so hour drive home.

Funny bout the hard break in comment. I asked my pro who did the tune and work on my 03 and he said drive it normal and get on it from time to time on the way home so it can get used to how it will be driven. I probably waited till the clicker had 400 miles or so on it prior to wot but then after that I did what my tech said. The book says "do take longer trips" so 1400 miles was sure that.
From what I can tell now with 1500 miles the pwr comes on pretty much instantly when in sport plus mode. Best I could ever do at the 1/4 in my 03 was 11.7 @ 128 and they say this car with all its goodies will do 10.9 in the low to mid 120's which I will have to find out soon on my own.
Feels like a very different car than my 03 which has off road pipes so no cats. That car is raw whereas this car is pretty refined. Love the ceramic stopping pwr, they make the car feel so light.
working on pics now.
