I installed a HID fog light kit in my 996TT. I was a bit of pain being that the fogs are integrated into the headlamp assembly but I made it work. It's not nearly as hard with the 997 fogs being in the bumper.

So the fog housing has 2 bulbs? or the fog itself is the DRL?

997.2 has LED's in the fog light housing, Im not sure if there is also an H3 bulb in there like the 997.1 turbos. I would guess not as the heat would kill the LEDs close to it in short order.

I called my dealer and they told me there are no front fogs in the 997.2 TT just the DRL's. The only fog we have is the single rear tail light. I checked the housing, no other bulbs but the LED's.

This is why I was wondering how the OP thought there were fogs in the front.

I am thinking about doing HID fogs. Is it advisable to remove the bumper to do the installation?

Any other kit recommendation? $90 seems steep for one year warranty

The kits I sell to my customers are $90 with a lifetime warranty. ($20 addt'l for 55w)

I believe 997.2 "fog lights" are actually DRL made out of LEDs.
