Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, will go down as the day when the racing died in Austin, Texas. The 2012 Formula One United States Grand Prix and the track that would host it, the Circuit of the Americas, were dealt a one-two punch that seems unsurvivable--though neither the race nor the track has formally been pronounced dead.

i never had high hopes given the involvement of parties far from sports but sheer money. However they have investments over $40M and the construction will probably continue for some purposes. Shame
It'll go... the guys building the track aren't stupid - they're got into bed with F1 far enough that they can't back out, and now they are going to hold the project up until they get a contract, so they don't get screwed by F1, either where F1 threatens to pull out or extracts too much money from the track owners. Just business as usual.
F1 is a nightmare for any track nowadays. In my opinion it has become an ego thing for countries and I believe the bug bit Texas too. Now in 2013 it is supposed to come to my doorstep, I mean literally. I drive on the NJ F1 track everyday!
F-1 has unfortunately morphed from a sanctioning body to a big business. There are many tracks in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

What did you expect from F1 ? After their last performance at Indy I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would even consider getting into bed with them. Stay over in Europe, I'll watch on SPEED if I have the time thank you.
