Big Issue With My Turbo

Man its one thing after another, so today im driving my 997.1 turbo and driving it hard, so when im in second gear or third doesn't matter as i accelerate hard and get to about 5K RPM its super weird i dont even know how to explain it, it feels as if the car stays at the same speed but the RPM's keep moving up so the car goes no where. So imagine the car is accelerating very fast everything is perfect, then once it hits a certain RPM it just stops accelerating speed wise but the RPM's keep going up and the car goes no were.

Is this the clutch slipping? any ideas. Its hard to explain the exact feeling of it so i did my best

any ideas.

O also last night when i turned my car on, it would completely lose power and turn off, even if i held the rev high as i thought it could be battery it would just cut all the power and the car would just die, about 3 times. THen i turned it off took out the key waited a few minutes and it went back to normal. Not sure if issues are related but i did notice that last night.

Perhaps your boost is falling off, so power gain through higher RPM is being offset by lower torque? Watch your boost gauge to see if boost level is holding at high rpm.

If it's a clutch slipping and it's not completely gone you can usually feel it "catch" if you back off the throttle a bit.

i think its a boost leak from what your saying because the issue is happening at open throttle and not anywre close to when i shift gears, but def could be a boost leak.

whats the remedy for a boost leak, something as major as new turbos?

Remedy would be to find a way to pressurize the system and find where the leak is coming from, fix whatever is leaking, and be on your way. I highly doubt it would new turbo's.

Quick way to test the clutch. Get on highway put it in 6th gear at like 50-60mph and floor it. If the revs rise/jump but it doesn't accelerate it's the clutch slipping.

Get it in to the dealer or your indie shop. Let them diagnose the problem.

Izwar....if your rpm's are increasing and the car is not accelerating there is only one possible explanation: your clutch is slipping.

There is a direct mechanical relationship between engine speed (rpm's) and vehicle speed. There's no electronic part in the car that can change that.
