Fabspeed Exhaust Tips

Just wanted to thank Alex for his help in acquiring the correct size tips for my car. The first set wasn't the right size, but he quickly returned the correct size to me without any hassles at all. Great person and company to work with.

Thanks Jay, I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you like it. The car looks great and gives it a nice unique touch now. Let me know if you ever need anything else and give me a shout when your ready to do the exhaust upgrade.
Thanks and enjoy,

Thanks Alex. The next upgrade I'm looking towards is possible an ECU upgrade to get the car close to a GT2 level if possible. If not I'll live with what I have. It's a great car. Again thanks for everything.

PS I referred a fellow member to you who has a 2008 turbo and would like the correct part number. I told him to contact you to make sure the exact part is ordered.

Just trying to help here: IMHO the primary difference between GT2 and Turbo is not power (although GT2 *is* more powerful), but the feel of the suspension and steering and the car's behavior in a curve.

In fact from a standing start and below 80 mph or so, a PDK Turbo flat-out blows away anything on the road, including GT2! Partly from the 4wd traction, partly from practically no loss of turbo boost with PDK gear shifts. (Yep that's how amazingly fast a PDK Turbo is - power is not its problem :-) and congrats to all the owners.)

Thanks for the info. I should probably just leave it stock as is. And you're right. The PDK has a ton of power already and is a joy to ride.

The only thing that concerns me with the look is that the new .2 exhaust surrounds make the current Fab tips look too small in Dia. I see boneheads car with the bigger BBI quad pipes fill the surrounds of the .2 bar properly. THAT is the right look. I wonder if any of the tip manufacturers are going to step up and provide the right size outlets for the .2 surrounds? I'm looking at this .2 bumper/led mod myself at the moment and the way it looks unless there are larger diameter tips avail that fit the stock size pipe then it means the stock .2 tips are the better look for now. At least they fill the void properly. Sorry OP don't mean to rain on the parade here but gotta call it the way it looks (no flame please)....and imho of course.

Good point Paul. Do you know if the BBI tip in fact *is* larger? Or could it be the way it looks in Ed's pictures?

I asked because I believe the BBI tip was for 997.1 Turbo, and if so it would be same size as Fabspeed's.

You're welcome. Among the exotic cars I've driven, the PDK Turbo has by far the most spectacular standing start I've ever experienced!

Another way to make the car faster is to firm up the suspension. A firmer car is faster objectively, and strangely but understandably, subjectively as well.

Hi Can,
No the Fab tips are smaller, probably the same as my techard fig 8's. Ed told me his BBI quad tips were 89mm. He had them prior to the .2 bumper/LED conversion but as you can see they fill the larger .2 exhaust surrounds nicely.
Just means if i do the same exercise my TA's are going to have the same issue.....so new bigger tips are on the cards.....probably BBI if they fit the EP1 outlets. Other alternative is to mod the existing .1 bumper to fit the .2 LED's.

I noticed the same when looking at the .2's quad tips. I am all about quad tips and love them when they fill the surround as in jnixon's white .1 .

The larger opening in the .2 and more agressive beefier tips even though not quad made me think I would be not so quick to mod them.

But if I get to that place it is good to know that there are different sizes in dia out there.
