Winter daily Drivers!

Hi!
Just wanted to highlight folks who drive these amazing cars all year round and in all conditions.

Here is my beast complete with child seat for my 4 year old, snows on 18 in wheels, and a fresh coat of Salt Lake City's finest salt...

Happy Winter!

I love it! They look better dirty. Have you ever been on the salt flats?

Drive mine every day in winter. Oh I forgot - we have no snow where I live. Don't get enough rain either

Seriously though it's good to see these cars being driven all year round.

Never driven this car on the salt flats, just my old audi.

Lots of DE days at the Miller Motorsports Park though!

What is driving on the flats like? Is it recommended? Can you do it without any group? I might be over in that area this summer

I drive my Turbo all year. The temps will get into the 20's and sometimes teens. No problem if no ice or snow. If snow or ice, then I drive my F 150 with about 300 lbs of block in the bed. I got caught coming out of a concert once with my Cayman S and barely made it home. It had snowed about 4 inches while I was inside. High performance tires have little traction in snow. Almost no grip going up slight inclines. I had to rev it to 7000 to 8000 rpm to go up hills.

When I went, I was just driving through and took my audi out there in the late evening and just drove around.
If you want to do a real speed run, I imagine you need to go to a designated speed event. Placed into categories based on car type and speed "club" you hope to join i.e. 150 MPH club. Friend did it with his carerra. Had a blast, but also weeks to get all of the salt out of the undercarraige! Check websites for events and rules.

Hope you have fun!
