Yep, big mistake to get rid of it. Had a tts, just not the same. I always lease my cars, and had planned to buy it off lease, when I went to do it got talked into a tts. Should've just stuck to my guns.

You traded the car in, right? Maybe the dealer can contact the buyer for you.

Dealers don't like to do that - says violates privacy. I've asked the dealer to just give the buyer my phone number and leave it up to them whether or not to call and they wouldn't even do that.

Hire an attorney or private investigator who has access to Lexis Nexis (or any other data base company). They should be able to access the appropriate information via VIN number. Also, they will likely want assurances that you have a legitimate need to know. Hope that helps,

Tried that, leads to a dead end at a tiny dealer in rahway, when you call nobody knows about the car.

If you have a friend at a Porsche dealer they could check the VIN for any recent service
and you may be ale to track it from there. Good luck.

Have you got a fallback position? It'd be a miracle to get it back at this late stage.

Why not just get a newer car? Like a MY2009 and then mod it. Newer electronics, probably less miles, in theory fewer problems...

bumperpip is infamous around these parts
In the early 90's, I used a service called (IIRC) Accutrac. For ~$50, it would find a person, give you address, etc., AND...disposition of bought/sold cars + VINs...even gave the guy's U.S. Mail route number. Now, they say, they can locate cars via VIN. Don't know how effective they are these days, but might be worth a shot. Good luck.

Not the point.....I had a new TTs, it blew, I want THAT car only. That's the one I painstakingly specc'd out, waited for, etc. The car is 5 yrs old with 69k miles, only I could want it.......crazy, perhaps.

Understand completely. I'd want mine back as well. won't happen as the new owne loves it, but i hear what you're saying. I remember we were two of the "waiters" on RL when the car first came out. It was a loooong wait, and all the back and forth on which options to get etc. made that a very special journey.

Every now and then I go back and read some of those old threads when the first bunch of us were waiting for the cars and how exciting it was when someone took delivery.

On a happier note my new toy left CA on Friday and I should have it soon.

PI, unless you have friends that are police officers.
