DME report
This car is Porsche CPO -- does that change anyone opinion? (i think i'm just digging here...)
that is good info - thanks!
Compared to the one I bought, you have 3 times range 1, 10+ times range two while we both had spikes to range 6, mine with only one ignition 3-6 and yours is more inline with an expected pyramid shape, but still unusual looking.
I bought mine cause I thought the 1 was a fluke and it was at 42 operating hours. Yours has been going strong for 20k miles after the top one and its CPOed. If it had exactly what you wanted for a good deal, I would consider it.

Just because they give you warranty does not mean that have to honor all claims. That is a fact that has been stated on this forum countless times.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

1 over rev in each of those RPM ranges is equivalent to winning the speed ball lottery at least twice.<o

Hard to say what went wrong or even if it was wrong. Those kind of over revs do not look back right now but is you stack some real type 3’s and 4’s in there the 5 and 6’s might not look as good or false.

An auto transmission with APR tune (that keeps stock rev limit) can give you up to range 2 over revs...However,if you put 4th gear and stay at rev limit for a second or two,you might get a few range 3 over revs...Overrevs greater than range 3 can occur only from failed downshift...And that is why I worry everytime i scan a car and see overrevs greater than 3...
P.S. Once again I speak about STOCK rev limit...

These overrevs are minor imo. They wouldn't bother me. Plus it's CPO'd -- doesn't bother Porsche either. I wouldn't pass up a good deal unless you really have your eyes set on finding a virgin--lol.
+1. And precisely why I stay away from first gear pulls.
Not sure what you are trying to ask, but you can have the dealer run you a report as a baseline at the time of the purchase of the CPO car.
Say if you had an engine failure/issues and your DME report brings up significant over revs after the base line report ( while in your possession) then surely you are responsible for the repairs other wise the certification should take care of the issue.
Now the confusion is, say this particular car that had some type 5 over rev has covered 200 engine hours with out any issues, would you still pass up on this car and if the census is YES, then why?
Porsche will certify cars with over revs atleast in the range 5 (that I have seen) if the there are 75+ hours on engine since the over rev, meaning the likely hood of any serious damage would have shown by then. If the engine is still running fine then it probably is.
Hope it helps.

What claim are you trying to verify? If the dealer is selling to you with a CPO warranty you'll get all the warranty paperwork, booklet, etc. and it will be listed in the PCNA database by VIN as having CPO.
