Not sure if you guys have seen this one. 458 outrun by Porsche on Japanese motorway. Porsche gets away scott free. but 458 driver gets the wistle blown on him by youtube nanna. 458 really does sound fantastic though. Poor guy.

Yep. Not when you look at all the user vids posted on youtube. The lesson here is don't ever show your face, where you work, voice, number plate etc etc if ever you intend loading video content of your driving exploits onto youtube. Nanny is completely out of control.

PS. That white 911 sure was haulin *** tho. Looked like the 458 just couldn't reign it in..

 

great film...thanks. Guess the doc had good intentions but lesson learned to be a bit less obvious. And driver taking huge multi-deadly chances on that two lane road with so many cars parked along side. Looks like they have their share of left lane slow non-passers on their 4-lane hwys like in USA. Great sounding exhaust which is tough to achieve from a 6-cyl P-turbo even with EP exhaust.

 

458 is quite a car aint it. That sound....wow. Imagine if only Porsche could stick a note like that in a turbo....hmmm....that'd mean they'd have to add another 2000rpms at least to the redline just for starters.

It's a nice dream. And Doc? well i guess he's had to trade up to a pushbike now thanks to the nosey nannas that were surfing youtube for 458 clips. Kinda makes you wonder how that happened to him really when you think of the folk that would be interested. Maybe an unhappy patient/s that were also motoring enthusiasts??.

 

Porsche cant make that sound even if they add 100.000rpm...

 

Not from their turbo engines, and I have heard the 458 and scud in person and they are amazing, BUT the 3RS 4.0 with cross pipes is right there with the sound and redline limit and a 3rd pedal/stick shift to boot.

OK... to help you out with this. When you were a little boy did your nanny encourage you to do dangerous things whilst under her care and control or did she pull you up on every little thing. Nanny is everywhere these days. You can't even fart without having nanna there to hit you with a stick.... Always hiding in places you never thought she'd be.....even youtube for example.. Got it yet?

Agree. The GT3 cars can sound wicked.....but that 458 does have quite a seductive sound. It'd be a very hard car to idle around in.....That would be punishment enough. He could serve 6 months driving idling with an rpm limiter of 1000 rpms or do 6 months jail time.....much the same thing.

Watched that link. Going by the slow speed and all that noise I reckon the noise was dubbed in using a remote control scale model car. I'm sure a 275 GTB would gather a lot more pace than that at those rpms.

I was actually taken by that 275 GTB video... No comment on the sound of that thing! Isnt that a 4sp? I cant think that someone would drive a r/c through paris like that. If so wouldnt it need to be followed by a car? It would take some nice film editing skills to match the tire squeal and braking to the video. Oh well. It was 1976, it was Europe, and Paris...
