Got the 997.2 TT

All -

Just last week I picked up my 2010 997.2 TT from Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte, NC. Drove my 2011 E90 M3 down from Pittsburgh and drove the 997 back home same day - a beautiful drive.

Here are some specs:
* arctic silver metallic
* sea blue interior (much darker than expected, close to black in color)
* PDK
* sport chrono
* adaptive sport seats
* UAI (I had that added before I arrived)
* 1/3 front hood and fenders clear bra (same as above)

After having owned both a 997.1 TT (modded to about 650 hp) and a 997.2 GT3, this 997.2 TT is my favorite as a DD. It feels much faster than my modded 997.1 (and probably is very close).

Some of the suspension numbness I felt in the 997.1 is gone. But that advance is replaced by a major disappointment in engine note. The DFI TT engine is just so darn quiet. I'm not referring here to the exhaust note, rather, the engine itself. This is a known issue but not having driving the 997.2 TT before pickup I didn't realize how drastic this actually was.

For me the PDK is awesome. Tremendous off the line performance. I find myself letting the PDK do the work versus "manually" shifting.

Other than that I'm very happy to be back in the TT. I'll DD this thing for a while and see where I go next in perhaps a year or so.

Pics...

I decided upon the Fabspeed X-pipe only to enhance the sound. Should be shipped in 2 weeks.

Retains the factory cats, manifolds, etc. List price I think is $1650.

So I'll try it. If I don't like it I'll go with a full system likely between Europioe, AWE, or Fabspeed.

Vids and review will follow.

The x-pipe replaces the entire center section of the exhaust so it should liven things up a bit!

Congrats, nice ride!!!

Thanks for the congrats.

It's amazing how effortlessly super fast this car is.

I had an insatiable urge to mod my prior 997.1 TT. When I reached 650hp it still didn't wow me. There's something about the 997.2 that I think makes it feel fast enough.

That said a tune may be in my future. But frankly for me the cost/benefit may not warrant it. I figure if I need this particular car to go faster I'm really just perhaps better off trying something different.

At the most, a tune to go with the exhaust would make it an absolute monster! The PDK already makes the car feel faster with the launch control and 0 boost drop between shifts!

I miss my C2S! Hope it's still treating you well.

Indeed, the turbo was just too tempting. Almost went 991S but couldn't justify the price new.

I detest the 997.2 stock sound - about 2 weeks away from fixing that.

A good exhaust and tune should yield 75-80whp. It is look like that the most u can see on stock turbos. Up next is upgraded stock turbos.
