Is the "self leveling" still working?

Haven't really checked, but I highly doubt it. I think I used to hear the headlight motor move when I started the car sometimes, and I haven't heard that yet. I purchased a tool that someone recommended here (the longer version) to manually adjust the vertical height of the beam. Everything lines up and now they are just "fixed", but all the lights work perfectly.

I have seen someone mentioned that "self-leveling" work early in this tread. But no one confirmed it. if there is someone could confirm whether it works or not, it will be great.

I think I spoke to him via pm and he was mistaken. No self-leveling. I thought I would miss it, I don't.

A test that can be tried per the manual is to turn the headlight low beams on (key in off position), then turn the key to on. This sequence should initiate the auto leveling test and the headlights will move through its full up and down range, then return to level.

does anyone know if transferring my current 997.1 lights to the new headlight unit 997.2 require any special skills? is it a full retrofiting everything from one to another ...any extra wirings required? from the thread it seems that after all piwis comes in to cancel the error code, is that right?
thanks

on a 997.1 the self leveling feature will not work and also the cornering light will not move in corners. If you disable the xenon feature with PIWIS it will work as you discribed with no error. It will not harm anything at the car at all. The swap is easy.

Do you know with certainty that you can remove the error (by coding it out) using the durametric pro cable/software ?

same as this: not a 1:1 replica but pretty close.

I asked Shane if he could provide more info on the projector in this headlights but he wasn't able to provide any info. The 997.1 projector lens is a Fresno, low quality lens. the 997.2 has a real nice true optical clarity lens, makes a huge difference in light output and color.

Those are terrible. A Chinese company makes them, I saw them at SEMA. In person they look absolutely awful. I hope people stay away from them. And at that price you're MUCH better off getting a set of used OEM adaptive headlights.

Sorry to revive this but has anyone been able to get the self leveling to work. Either by swapping the motor or by rewiring?
Thanks

Are people coding the car to read that it has dynamic cornering headlights or it has halogen lights?
