Boost question

How much boost should the 997.2 TT have on normal and on sport mode? I remember only having 11psi before my catless X pipe installed. Now it goes up to 15psi very quickly. Is that normal?

Spooling more quickly is due to the free flowing exhaust. The quicker the exhaust can exit, the more quickly the hot side impeller can begin to build speed, making the cool side provide boost.

However, in all of my past experience ( and it is with supercharged cars, not a 911 tt. ) the faster you could get the exhaust out, as a rule the boost pressure was lower. That is when we would drop to a smaller pulley.

Did you tune the car at the same time? 12 psi sounds low... I'm going to drive my 911 tonight and will look, but I swear in sport mode I see 17 psi.

Mike

Same here, I get 13-14 PSI in normal mode and 16-17 in Sport mode.

I am only getting 15psi of boost in both regular and sport mode. The only mods I have done so far is the catless x pipe. The 17psi that you both are getting, is that with a tune?

997.1 stock boost is 1.0 bar (14.5 psi). With Sport Chrono engaged you get 10 seconds of overboost to 1.2 bar (17.4 psi). Not sure what the various tuners increase it to - maybe just eliminate the 10 second limitation??

Does anyone know what the stock boost would be for the 997.2?? I remember only getting 11psi with stock exhaust and now 15psi with catless X pipe. I've never seen 17psi even with sport mode.

Thanks for all the info. Now I just need to correct the CEL code P2099/P2097. I thought it wad from the catless pipe but I have the mini O2 sensors.

Though I don't drive my 997.1 TT much let alone boosting it but the few times when I did make a 3rd gear pull, the max I saw was 7-8 Psi before I let it go?

Does that sound normal in a 3rd gear pull or do I need to do it in 4th?

Thanks
