Edition 918 Spyder

This was on the dealer floor yesterday.....apparently only available for those who have ordered the "real" 918 spyder.

i heard first choices were given to 918 buyers however some 918 owners have ownership of turbo s already and sometimes elect to pass this offer and at that point 918 edition turbo s becomes available to the general public.

my favorite of this car is the caliper color and the same green stitching throughout the interior, it would have been even sweeter with bucket seats, imagine carbon fiber and all the green stitching

I was told the same thing by my dealer here in Houston. They had one on the sales floor during the 991 party.

+1. Seems like a weird decision to create this variant.

Not a fan of the decal. Remove it and it's a very cool color combination. The carbon intakes look awesome. The grey centerlocks need to be black also.

I've been a long time reader of the forum, but just registered today after seeing the post on the 918 Edition Spyder TTS. Like Blindfold said, this is only supposed to be available to those lucky 918 people that can afford it.
I was looking to special order a TTS, so called the dealer where I purchased my 07 TT, thinking they would give me a good deal. I was shocked when they said they could only give me $500 off MSRP, so I started calling other dealers. By the time I got through, I was up to $5000 off MSRP. Ironically, I never called the closest dealer to me, the one I had my 07 serviced at. I called them to see what availability they had to special order a TTS---the sales lady said they had a Cab available, which I didn't want, and a 918 Edition TTS. Took about 5 minutes to get there, and was able to order it with any options I wanted---didn't even ask for a discount as I wanted one when I first saw them in the magazines I get. She said someone came in, put a 50% downpayment on the car, and opted out of the TTS. according to the dealer, all 918 are spoken for.

According to the dealer where I got my 918 Edition TTS, all have now been sold, and the 918 won't be here until 9-18-13. The dealer said only 40 to 50 will be in the US

There have been numerous spy photos of the 918 being tested, but my understanding is that the first customer cars will be delivered on 9-18-13
