Dectane taillights uneven gaps

Just curious if anyone else had issues with the Dectane taillights having different gaps on the left vs. right sides.

The one on the left side seems to be just about right, while the one on my right ends up too close to the trunk lid and is a bit too deep. I played with the mounting bracket, but in the end had to use several washers to get the two lights to look the same.

Seems odd, I haven't seen this issue mentioned before.

I got mine from a German vendor with high reputation on these forums, they look genuine.

I bought from the German vendor and thought I had this issue but a little "jiggling" before tightening the screw was all it took to get them to look the same on both sides.

LOL, I thought my "jiggling" days were over when I sold my M3 for the Turbo, guess not.

I loosened them lights up and played with them a bit, they look better now, thanks.

lol
but to clarify, I'd say the jiggling is in the range of "normal". I had to do the same thing with the Porsche red taillights. It's just that there is a small amount of "play" in order to match perfectly. The Dectanes are OEM quality imho as far as fit and finish go.

I have them as well and they are OK for an aftermarket part. But it's not quite OEM quality with the clouding of the backup light section of the lens and a few other flaws when you scrutinize them up close. From three feet away, they look just fine.

like other people said, loosen the bolts and play with it until fitment looks perfect.

even the OEM ones require some jiggling, Id agree they are not quite up to OEM standards fitment wise but they look find after some time is spent aligning them. There is a surprising amount of adjustment in the design.
