Stupid "event" but the peasants like it, it is nice to see cars go fast in a straight line, some of these can even be driven by old grannies as there is not much to it, simple computerized acceleration (GTR, Lambo, etc).

I would like to see how you look like while driving a 1500hp car in a straight line. I wonder if you will still have the same amateur thought after or will be too busy to clean the **** out of your pants.

Dont make it sound like it is an achievement of some sort. Those drivers are amateurs. Rich amateurs, a bit nutty maybe, that is all.
Cleaning **** out of your pants - I guess you speak from personal experience.

I do not have 1500hp car, but I did my 300kmh runs on a manual car in winter on winter tyres. A bit scary and boring, that is all.

Yeah, but they have some guts and skills being able to drive cars that powerful. It's not for everyone.

And yes, at least I speak from a personal experience, not from where I'm sittin' on

Acceleration and top speed are totally different phases. I did 350 km/h with my turbo. It's brutal, but nothing like tryin' to keep an accelerating 12 second 0-300 km car on the ground.

Is this kind of events that shows how good the tunners kits are. As a european, it shows me alot more than the 1/4 mile drag (depends highly from wheel traction) or lap time (suspension/chassis and power/weight ratio).

There are not that many pro drivers who go over 404 km/h (250 miil/h) like the guy in the Lambo.

Don't forget to include Porsche Tiptronics and Porsche PDKs in that list of cars that utilize "simple computerized acceleration". Driving a modern manual doesn't take much skill either, even though a lot of manual owners like to pretend that it does

It's St Gotthard's Pass. It is (along with Stelvio Pass) on my bucket list.
