Whirling Sound on Acceleration

I'm getting a whirling sound on acceleration (listen to attached sound clip). Anyone know what this may be?

Boost seems to hold ok in general, however, I have experienced sudden drops in boost (which picks up again immediately) especially in 1st gear.

Thanks!

Werks1 Y-Pipe
Werks1 Intake Box
Champion / Forge DVs
Akrapovic Slip Ons
FVD ECU Flash

And a ton of suspension mods that I think will not be related to this noise.

Thanks!

Meaning a problem with the Y-Pipe or a problem with the installation of the Y-Pipe? Reason I ask is I have a brand new Y-Pipe. Thanks!

rubber adapter from y pipe to throttle body has a tendency to pop off under boost coupled with engine movements under acceleration due to weak hose clamps...especially if removed and replaced a few times.

The bead on the factory hose is terrible, and I would also suggest replacing the hose clamps. Note this may or may note be the cause but definately something worth looking at.

Thanks!

The shop just told me that one of my turbos are missing a rod which is used to release air from the turbo. Anyone know what he's referring to? Is it the actuator rod? Weird it just disappeared. Can I just get a replacement without buying an entire turbo? Are there aftermarket rods?

I would assume he's talking about the wastegate rod, it is replaceable if you can find a used junk turbo for cheap, you could take the rod off of that and use it.

What if I can't find a used turbo? Any chance I can get a new one somewhere?

If your unable to find a used turbo, you would then have to purchase a new one. We can get ether turbo but would need to know what side you need first.

Do a Google search for Turbo Rebuilders. I would be very surprised if you can't find a shop that will repair yours..........best,
