Looking for info on Turbo S Upgrades

Hello,

Lately I've been looking around to see what upgrades there are for the Turbo S 2010+. There's quite a lot, but I have a couple that have cought my attention and I wanted to see what you guys think;

Werks 1 Carbon Fiber Y Pipe - More air flow, and I heard Carbon Fiber cools down faster than the stock one?

Intercooler Upgrade (I've only seen Champion Motorsport so far) - My question here is; How good are the Turbo S 2010+ Intercoolers? Would an "upgrade" be worth it? I like the Silicone Boost hoses but they only fit with the whole kit.

Are there any stuff you guys would recommend for a completely stock Turbo S? I'm not looking into any crazy Horsepower gain or anything but just looking to make the car better overall, I know Intercoolers help with cooler air flow, and Silicone boost hoses help with leaking problems, etc...

Thanks everyone.

I think with all Porsche turbos first would be exhaust then tune. Without those 2 everything else wouldn't make much difference.

Yea I've been told Exhaust is a "must" for these cars, but man do I love the stock sound... Sounds like a Jet passing by!

There's actually quite a few aftermarket exhaust systems that will keep the stock sound such as miltek. Most people try to do the opposite though and tend to go louder...

I've never been a fan of the sound of Porsche with aftermarket exhausts... But maybe I just haven't heard a Turbo with exhaust.

What are some of the top exhausts out there?

Not sure which one would be consider the "top" but I have had a cargraphic, fvd, fabspeed, and milltek. Out of 3 I sold the milltek because it wasn't much different from stock but I didn't go with catless on the milltek either.

Best bet is listen to several in person and make a decision. Performance wise I don't they are that different.

Unfortunately I don't have the option of listening to any in person... There's very few Porsche Turbos here...

I've seen Agency Power, FVD and Akrapovic (Though I hate the tips)...

I would just get an exhaust and a tune. You will max out the torque limits of the tranny from what I have read. If you pony up for whatever "extra" it may cost (if any) and buy your GIAC tune from Champion, they will themselves match your factory warranty. IMO that's great as an owner and for resale (even if it the warranty is highly unlikely to be used).

Ah right, the torque limit...

After checking out some videos on YouTube, there's 3 exhaust sounds I really like;

Fabspeed, FVD Bombacher, and GMG.

Anyone has experience with these?

G.I.A.C. is actually working our porting our soon to be released 750R kit to the Turbo S and PDK cars. With a software upgrade, the transmission will be able to withstand elevated power levels. As we learn more, I will certainly pass it along.

In terms of an exhaust, have a listen to ours. I think you will like what you hear.

Thanks AWE and Cargraphic for the information!

Zook, that exhaust looks amazing. Are there any sound clips or pictures of it installed?
