Formula 1 US Grand Prix
Hamilton deserves a win after his mechanical issues that last few races. It would be cool to see a P-car back in F-1. If I remember correctly 1991 was the last year they were involved and that was just engines for TAG/McLaren team.
What do you think about the Porsche GT2 wall art?

I've been at the COTA for the past three days and I'm loving it. From the Formula 1 car to the vintage F1, Ferrari 458 Challange, and Porsche GT3 Cup cars they have all been very loud, fast, and sliding on this new tract. The race today is expected to bring 100,000 people to COTA.
I went to today's race.
The track is beautiful!
There are 3 parking areas. One near the track, one in town, Austin Texas, and the other at the Expo Center about 10 miles north. Free transportation is provided at the two farther locations. (School buses)
The drop off is approximately 1 mile away from the track requiring you to walk a gravel/ some paved road to the gate.
It's apparent that they simply ran out of time to get everything finished but will be diligently working on a better solution.
Lots of customer service personal to assist with entry, seating or general questions. No question the track wanted this to be a very friendly environment and for folks to have a good experience.
Also, I have never seen so many port-a-potties. Probably 1 for every 3 people. That is obviously an exaggeration but you get the point. LOTS!
The stand we were seated in looked temporary as did the many portable t-shirt sales and food booths. That too will be addressed at a later time.
For me the experience was a very favorable one. No real valid complaints considering they still have work to do to complete the areas I mentioned above.
On the way out is HW130 with an 80MPH speed limit. You have probably heard of it since it made national news. My V1 was marvelous of course indicating all the LEOs positioned along that highway looking for speeders, drunk drivers or even Porsche's that did not have a front license plate. Like me.
He was nice and simply gave me a warning. That's the first time I have been pulled over for not having a front plate and none of my cars have one or have had one for 15 years so I guess it was time.
Oh, in case someone was going to ask,,,, yes lots of hot babes too!

Nels
I was there all weekend as well.
Great track and facility IMO. As commented previously, you can tell there is more to be done but it didn't take away from the experience.
I was in a suite on turn two, can't comment about concessions but lines looked to move quickly.
I love the track design and elevation. When walking around the pits you can get a great sense for it, especially looking up at turn 1.
Enjoyed the GT3 and 458 races too.

Looking forward to be present at Texas for next year's race, went to Singapore for this year, that particular night live experience was nice however I was not pleased to see Hamilton end the race early from P1 due to tranny issues.
Finally had the chance to watch the recording of the race just now, all I can say the battle between Vettel and Hamilton that started after pitting was epic. I still do not see why Mclaren let go of Louis since Button is not going all that great either. The track is absolutely beautiful from helicopter view and turn 1 is very interesting to watch especially with large elevation changes right before if I remember correctly.
