6 speed or Tiptronic?

Ok im looking to build a 997.1 turbo for 1/4 mile / mile. Should i stay away from tiptronic for this kind of build? Im not looking to do a crazy build just stock motor with bigger turbos and full bolt ons. And before its stated i have done many searches and alot of thread reads . I just want honest opinions and reasons for and against.
Thanks in advance.

I never done a 1/4 but I am MT and assume a automatic would be about 100x easier to launch.

That aside I would never want a automatic other than a PDK

Call Tom @Champion he's a really nice guy or Neil @ Switzer. I think Tip gets better 1/4 mile times. Does not have launch control though.

I have heard the tip is good up to about ~700HP then the clutch packs start slipping. BlackHorse Turbo could tell you more I am sure.

That seems to be what i have been reading . It seems like the Tiptronic cars go for less money with the same options .

For a 1/4 mile, the tip would launch faster but it has limitations on the torque that can go through it so the top end would suffer. IMHO it's a toss up between the two. I am a die hard manual guy, for now :-)

That is untrue. The Tip and 6sp have the exact same top speed. The tip is also faster to the top speed by over a second.
