Engine light came on today!
Ive yet to see an issue from a BMC out of the box, only when an owner cleans it does it lead to issues. If you want to use these filters it may make sense just to get a new one vs. attempting to re-oil as it may prove a much cheaper option vs. chasing down CEL's and replacing sensors.
I think this is a lambda probe issue rather than a MAF issue!
I have had a BMC for nearly 4 years and on my previous 996tt for 3 years!
Last night my engine light came on again so this morning I checked with durametrics and this time it was running rich where as last time it was running lean!
So I will check lambda values at some point.
Do any of you guys know what they should be reading?

I just got the p9021 (as read by Durametric) again, which is the p2190. Is the lambda probe the O2 sensor?
Car drives fine. I'll datalog lambdas to make sure no issue. The error said it was too rich at idle bank 2. I have cats on right now.

If you are getting this at idle, logging at speed probably won't help you make the diagnosis, but it will make sure you car is safe for the time being.
A P2190 is an enrichment fault. It can show up from a small intake leak. Easiest thing to check is your gas cap. A gas cap that is not fully secured when your car warms up would cause an intake leak. The leak is compensated for as much as possible based on the fuel you are using.
Second cheap and easy thing to check is your MAF. Check the voltage, is it more than 1.1? If so, that particular MAF is bad.
Other things to check, but I have not done before...the fuel pressure too high or a problem with the injection valve ie leaking.

I believe it was at idle for me too, just after getting gas so perhaps the cap wasn't on right. I was just going to datalog to make sure AFRs were good. Car drives phenomenally. Last time I checked the MAF voltages were fine - is it done with car running? I have a Mafless tune so I may just unplug them again. I plugged them in when the car went into the shop for camshaft change.
I took out the MAF's the other day to check them and the left one was slightly oily so could have been the culprit but now I can here ticking like a small air leak when reversing or parking so gonna check out this issue now.

No aftermarket air filter, and the car is always parked in the garage, not driven in the rain usually. Any recommended next steps?

Changed all the oxygen sensors and the problem has disappeared.
Both sensors goes bad at the same time? Any recommendations on the sensors brand (Bosch or other)? Where are the sensors located? Any special tools needed?
The sensors are Bosch. I thought I would just change all of them as the car is 8 years old.
They are located before the cats and after the cats on both sides.
Thanks GTRNICK, I will try that. Are the sensors easy to reach? Any special tools needed?
