If it came from PIWIS, didn't the OPC have a clue?
The thing is there is nothing wrong with the car.
There cleared it and it was fine and it has happend a few times over the past year!
I'm think that maybe a sensor/meter is on the way out?

As 512bb points out, lean is a very undesirable operating condition. It can lead to pre- detonation, very high operating temps and things that go bang in the night if run too hard.
What mikestyle is probably experiencing is the ECU pulling timing or cutting boost to save the motor from the lean condition. Ignore the condition and eventually it will put the motor into limp mode.
Best get these issues checked out by a reputable dealer or indy asap. Best,

I had these codes and they cleared themselves. It means it's rich at idle. A number of causes and one of them is faulty mafs.

It does smell rich at idle, very rich but assumed it was the cat removal.
Your are right, the air mass sensors are not working correct. You need to replace one or the two of them?? Usually this happens after installation of others than OEM Air-Filter?
However, the engine light is correct and says your car needs a new Sensor.

I killed mine with this damned BMC.
It depends on how much oil is applied on the filter. On mine BMC was too much oil, which killed both sensors. The chance both are gone at the same time is fairly high, since each sensor can not withstand any oil.
There is no other chance than replace the sensors /filter and throw away BMC Filters or other oiled filters. After that the engine light disappears!
